Who the hell is this guy?

Welcome to my world and to my work! Come on, let's celebrate - everything: human life, life, our life! Yes, I have this intuition that joy lies everywhere around us even when we don't see it.

That is why I chose to be an artist: out of desire, love and pleasure. To make my joy of life even bigger (though we often have to visit many shadow places before we reach it!) Come, let's get surprised, troubled, confused even, and let's go deeper and deeper, further and further.

Always more! The ordinary isn't enough to keep me stisfied, I'm afraid! I want to love life as it is, especially in its paradoxes, gathering opposites and extremes all together, escaping any simplistic vision, and mixing all levels of reality, form the visible to the invisible, from reality to imagination, from the superficial to the sacred.

Let's burst all barriers, limits, marks, and accept our own trouble! The only things I can rely on are my integrity, my sens of humour, me, you, and my unlimited desire to love. With all that, we should be able to do something, shouldn't we?

Ongoing projects

Connerie (Stupidness/mistake)
This is my craziest project: direct and sometimes act in Connerie, a 6 short movies series. We had la connerie (we went really stupid) with over 18 other passionate friends and shot in April 2008 remakes of famous movies scenes - but with our faces and our poor human, technical and material ressources. Never mind if it does not fit or if it's a connerie (a mistake). We wanted to! And we will believe in it until the end. Hope the result will give you la Connerie too! La connerie makes you free! Soon on the Internet.

Riquet a la Houppe and Peau d'Ane
This is my new show to re-enchant the world: 17th century world-famous Versailles writer Perrault's children's tales Riquet a la Houppe and Peau d'Ane. Two shows for everyone above 7 years old. Or how to praise in a malicious way the loving eye that can reveal beauty and spirit anywhere in Riquet a la Houppe, and how to encourage trust and faith (in oneself, love, the world...) in Peau d'Ane. I want to take on this message alone on stage with all the inventions of my voice, my body and Perault's beautiful writing. Now in Parisian schools and theaters.

La Bete Humaine (The Human Beast)
I explore cabaret style under that name and in my own provoking, excessive, delicate way. I sing my own songs for the first time with great pleasure. Every other month in le K-baret, Paris, France.

Former projects

From text...
I've always had a taste for litterature. And since 2005 I had the chance to play authors I was dreaming of, both classical (Wilde, Racine) and more contemporary (Kane, Albee in English, Koltes, Schwabb, Genet). I also had the pleasure to stage other authors: Copi (Une Visite Inopportune, 2005), French poet Meschonnic (Song of the Songs, 2007) now Perrault, and the pleasure to write (my play Noir (black), that I staged in 2006, and Diary of a lover).

...to physical image and voice theater.
Inspired by my work with Pippo Delbonno on Enrico V (Paris, 2005), I acted in Celine Coyac's choregraphic theater creation and in shorter collective creations in Paris. Then I gathered text and body in a danse-theater performance: the Bible's Song of the Songs translated by Henri Meschonnic. This cross-arts research now extends to video and voice (see "current projects".

All together!
I teach wherever theater isn't expected: firms (seminars...), mentally handicapped people... I try to repell the limits of theater, yesterday with the group Les Boites a Cris (boxes of cries), today with my own company Mahu. Make theater closer to people, to other arts and to myself, re-discover the spiritual roots of both theater and human being, so as to bring us all closer: that is my deepest wish. And of course, I'll do it my way!
